For our character development project (three blind mice) I was inspired by the following & more: Happy Tree Friends, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, Pinky and the Brain and various other little tidbits. And now for some imagery:
I would love to do this kind of detailed drawing of texture, but with the time frame and my lack of drawing skills, this was not an option. But the general “naive”, child-like drawing style was an excellent inspiration from Flapjack.
Pinky and the Brain, a cult classic. Loved this show as a kid, and now when I need to inspire on the figures of (cartoon) mice I look to Pinky and Brain for a few ideas, particularly the hands, feet, teeth, tails, etc.
Can always rely on Happy Tree Friends for a bit of a cry, cringe and a laugh. Otherwise, I was inspired by the apparent lack of detail in the drawings, or the very simplistic style of drawing (which I thought myself capable of). Also the amount of violence (eye-popping, etc) I thought these would be perfect references for some of my blind mice 😉
I promise to put up some of my basic sketches in the near future!
